CALL TO WORSHIP
*HYMN 66 Praise My Soul the King of heaven+
1. Praise, my soul, the King of heaven,
to the throne thy tribute bring;
ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
evermore God's praises sing.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King.
2. Praise the Lord for grace and favor
to all people in distress;
praise God, still the same as ever,
slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Glorious now God's faithfulness.
3 Fatherlike, God tends and spares us;
well our feeble frame God knows;
motherlike, God gently bears us,
rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Widely yet God's mercy flows.
4 Angels in the heights, adoring,
you behold God face to face;
saints triumphant, now adoring,
gathered in from every race.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace.
WORDS: Henry F. Lyte, 1834 MUSIC: John Goss, 1869
PRAYER
*PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Do Lord… remember me (Sing once)
1 Do Lord, do Lord, do Lord, remember me.
Do Lord, do Lord, do Lord, remember me,
Do Lord, do Lord, do Lord remember me,
O do Lord, remember me.
2 I took Jesus as my Savior, do, Lord, remember me.
I took Jesus as my Savior, do, Lord, remember me.
I took Jesus as my Savior, do, Lord, remember me.
O do Lord, remember me.
3 When I'm in trouble, do Lord, remember me.
When I'm in trouble, do Lord, remember me,
When I'm in trouble, do Lord, remember me,
O do Lord, remember me.
4 When I am dying, do Lord, remember me,
When I am dying, do Lord, remember me,
When I'm dying, do Lord, remember me,
O do Lord, remember me.
4 I got a home in gloryland that outshines the sun.
I got a home in gloryland that outshines the sun
I got a home in gloryland that outshines the sun
O do Lord, remember me.
Some glad morning (Sing once)
1 Some glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
2 When the shadows of this life have grown,
I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
3 Just a few more weary days and then,
I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
Every time I Feel the Spirit (Sing once)
Every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
Yes, every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
1 Upon the mountain, my Lord spoke,
out his mouth came fire and smoke.
All around me, looks so shine,
ask my Lord if all was mine.
Every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
Yes, every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
2 Jordan river, runs right cold,
chills the body, not the soul.
Ain’t but one train on this track,
runs to heaven and right back.
Every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
Yes, every time I feel the Spirit
moving in my heart, I will pray.
WORDS: Afro-American spiritual MUSIC: Afro-American spiritual; adapt. and arr. by William Farley Smith, 1968
I want a revival in my soul… send down the rain (Sing twice)
I want a revival in my soul, I want a revival in my soul
I must apply to the blood of Jesus, to get a revival in my soul.
Send down the rain, send down the rain, send down the gospel rain
Send down the rain, send down the rain, send down the gospel rain
It’s coming down, down, down, it’s coming down,
And the glory of the Lord is coming down.
When the saints begin to pray,
And the Lord shall have His way,
And the glory of the Lord is coming down.

Please consider this response to the loss caused by Hurricane Melissa from the Florida Annual Conference of the UMC:
1. Pray — Lift up the people and communities of Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and across the Caribbean. Pray for safety, comfort, and strength for those affected, and for those responding with aid and care.
2. Give — Support recovery efforts through the by United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) designating gifts to Advance #982450. UMCOR is prepared to support the response efforts of our Methodist partners in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Funds collected will go to deliver essential supplies like food and water, support the removal of debris, and provide temporary shelter for the displaced.
You may add to your normal contributions to the church by clearly designating what portion you would like to have the church send for relief by marking your envelope, or use the “other” line on our e-giving app, or by giving a gift by text.
Giving money is best for those seeking to organize relief but from the Sun-Sentinel newspaper:

CHILDREN’S TIME
SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM
Brothers and Sisters in Christ; through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are initiated into Christ’s holy Church. We are incorporated into God’s mighty acts of salvation and given new birth through water and the Spirit. All this is God’s gift, offered to us without price.
Azalani Roleecia Mitchell has been brought for baptism by her parents, and family today. We ask them to respond to these questions as a testimony to their faith, and I ask the congregation to pledge to help them in their task.
To the family, I ask these questions:
On behalf of the whole Church, I ask you: Do you renounce the spiritual forces of wickedness, reject the evil powers of this world, and repent of your sin? I do.
Do you accept the freedom and power God gives you to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves? I do.
Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior, put your whole trust in his grace, and promise to serve him as your Lord, in union with the Church which Christ has opened to people of all ages, nations, and races? I do.
Will you nurture this child in Christ’s holy Church, that by your teaching and example she may be guided to accept God’s grace for herself, and profess her faith openly, and to lead a Christian life?
I will.
Now to the congregation I ask:
Do you, as Christ’s body, the Church, reaffirm both your rejection of sin and your commitment to Christ? We do.
Will you nurture one another in the Christian faith and life and include these persons and all the children in this church, in your care?
With God’s help we will proclaim the good news and live according to the example of Christ. We will surround these persons with a community of love and forgiveness, that they may grow in their service to others. We will pray for them, that they may be true disciples who walk in the way that leads to life.
Let us pray Eternal Father: When nothing existed but chaos, you swept across the dark waters and brought forth light. In the days of Noah you saved those on the ark through water. After the flood you set in the clouds a rainbow. When you saw your people as slaves in Egypt, you led them to freedom through the sea. Their children you brought through the Jordan to the land which you promised.
In the fullness of time you sent Jesus, nurtured in the water of a womb. He was baptized by John and anointed by your Spirit. He called his disciples to share in the baptism of his death and resurrection and to make disciples of all nations.
Pour out your Holy Spirit, to bless this gift of water and Azalani Roleecia who receives it, to wash away her sins and clothe her in righteousness throughout her life, that, dying and being raised with Christ, she may share in his final victory.
Bless the home of Azalani Roleecia, give wisdom and affection to her parents, along with understanding and guidance, and, most of all, build up the love which conquers all evil and instills the grace to lead a Christian life. We ask in Jesus’ name.
All praise to you, Eternal Father, through your Son Jesus Christ, who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever. Amen.
Azalani Roleecia, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
The Holy Spirit work within you, that being born through water and the Spirit, you may be a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Now it is our joy to welcome our new sister in Christ.
Through baptism you are incorporated by the Holy Spirit into God’s new creation and made to share in Christ’s royal priesthood. We are all one in Christ Jesus. With joy and thanksgiving, we welcome you a member of the family of Christ.
HYMN 160 Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart+
1 Rejoice, ye pure in heart;
rejoice, give thanks and sing;
your glorious banner wave on high,
the cross of Christ your King.
Rejoice, rejoice,
rejoice, give thanks and sing.
2 Your clear hosannas raise,
and alleluias loud;
whilst answering echoes upward float,
like wreaths of incense cloud.
Rejoice, rejoice,
rejoice, give thanks and sing.
3 Yes, on through life's long path,
still chanting as ye go;
from youth to age, by night and day,
in gladness and in woe.
Rejoice, rejoice,
rejoice, give thanks and sing.
4. At last the march shall end;
the wearied ones shall rest;
the pilgrims find their heavenly home,
Jerusalem the blest.
Rejoice, rejoice,
rejoice, give thanks and sing.
5 Praise God who reigns on high,
the Lord whom we adore,
the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
one God forevermore.
Rejoice, rejoice,
rejoice, give thanks and sing.

Jesus Loves Me This I Know
1 Jesus loves me! this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong; they are weak, but he is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
2 Jesus loves me, this I know, as he loved so long ago,
taking children on his knee, saying, "Let them come to me.“
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
3 Jesus loves me still today, walking with me on my way,
wanting as a friend to give, light and love to all who live.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!

PRAYER HYMN 534 Be Still, My Soul+
1. Be still, my soul: the Lord is on your side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
leave to your God to order and provide;
in every change God faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: your best, your heavenly friend
through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
2. Be still, my soul: your God will undertake
to guide the future, as in ages past.
Your hope, your confidence let nothing shake;
all now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
the Christ who ruled them while he dwelt below.
3. Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
when we shall be forever with the Lord,
when disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
all safe and blessed we shall meet at last.
WORDS: Katharina von Schlegel, 1752, MUSIC: Jean Sebelius, 1899; arr. from The Hymnal, 1933
PRAYER OF INTERCESSION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.
