CALL TO WORSHIP**

The psalmist declares, “Lord, you have searched me and known me.” Will you open yourselves to be searched by God?
Search us, O God, and know our hearts.
God searches you, knows you, and loves you, and invites you to search out God in return. Will you seek the heart of God?
We will search you, O God, to know your heart.
The Triune God who creates all and knows all is revealed in running rivers and fluttering butterflies, in warm sunshine and the smell of the earth. Will you pay attention?
We will pay attention, O God, to your fingerprint of love on all of creation.
Open our hearts today to encounter your love, holiness, and glory that create and sustain all that was, is, and will be.
We come today to enter the dance of the Trinity, the all-knowing Creator and Sustainer of life.

*HYMN 89 Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee+

1 Joyful, joyful, we adore thee, God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flowers before thee, opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

2 All thy works with joy surround thee, earth and heaven reflect thy rays,
Stars and angels sing around thee, center of unbroken praise;
Field and forest, vale and mountain, flowery meadow, flashing sea,
Chanting bird and flowing fountain call us to rejoice in thee.

3 Thou art giving and forgiving, ever blessing, ever blest,
Well-spring of the joy of living, ocean-depth of happy rest!
Thou our Father, Christ our brother, all who live in love are thine;
Teach us how to love each other, lift us to the joy divine.

4 Mortals, join the mighty chorus, which the morning stars began;
Love divine is reigning o’er us, binding all within its span.
Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife;
Joyful music leads us sunward In the triumph song of life.

WORDS: Henry Van Dyke, 1907; st. 4 alt. 1989 MUSIC: Ludwig van Beethoven, 1824; arr. by Edward Hodges, 1864

*PRAISE AND WORSHIP.

I Feel Good, Good, Good
I feel good, good, good,
I feel good, wonderful good.
Every time I think about Jesus,
I feel good, good, good!

I Want A Revival In My Soul medley
I want a revival in my soul, I want a revival in my soul
I must apply to the blood of Jesus, to get a revival in my soul.

Send down the rain, send down the rain,
send down the gospel rain
Send down the rain, send down the rain,
send down the gospel rain

It’s coming down, down, down, it’s coming down,
And the glory of the Lord is coming down.
When the saints begin to pray,
And the Lord shall have His way,
And the glory of the Lord is coming down.

It’s Raining
It’s raining, all around me I can feel it, it’s the latter rain.
Ride on Jesus, please send more rain,
Until we are wet, until we are soaked in the latter rain.

It is raining, all around me I can feel it, it’s the latter rain.
Ride on Jesus, please send more rain,
Until we are wet, wet, wet,
until we are soaked, soaked, soaked
Until we are wet, wet, wet,
until we are soaked, soaked, soaked in the latter rain.

*HYMN Jesus Has Died and Has Risen Again+

1.  Jesus has died and has risen again, Pardon and peace to bestow;
Fully I trust him, from sin’s guilty stain Jesus saves me now.
Jesus saves me now! Jesus saves me now!
Yes, Jesus saves me all the time, Jesus saves me now!

2. Sin’s condemnation is over and gone, Jesus alone knoweth how;
Life and salvation my soul has put on; Jesus saves me now.
Jesus saves me now! Jesus saves me now!
Yes, Jesus saves me all the time, Jesus saves me now!

3. Jesus is stronger than Satan and sin, Satan to Jesus must bow,
Therefore I triumph without and within; Jesus saves me now.
Jesus saves me now! Jesus saves me now!
Yes, Jesus saves me all the time, Jesus saves me now!

4. Sorrow and pain may beset me about, Nothing can darken my brow;
Battling in faith I can joyfully shout: Jesus saves me now.
Jesus saves me now! Jesus saves me now!
Yes, Jesus saves me all the time, Jesus saves me now!

HYMN 277 Tell me the Stories of Jesus+

1 Tell me the stories of Jesus I love to hear;
Things I would ask Him to tell me If He were here:
Scenes by the wayside, tales of the sea,
Stories of Jesus, tell them to me.

2 First let me hear how the children stood 'round His knee,
And I shall fancy His blessing resting on me;
Words full of kindness, deeds full of grace,
All in the love-light of Jesus' face.

3 Into the city I'd follow the children's band,
Waving a branch of the palm tree high in my hand;
One of His heralds, yes, I would sing
Loudest hosannas, "Jesus is King!”

WORDS: William H. Parker, 1885 MUSIC: Frederick A. Challinor, 1903

PRAYER HYMN 133 Leaning on the Everlasting Arms+

1. What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
what a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

2 O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

3. What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

WORDS: Elisha A. Hoffman, 1887 MUSIC: Anthony J. Showalter, 1887

PRAYER OF INTERCESSION AND THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.

HYMN OF PREPARATION 620 One Bread, One Body

One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

Gentile or Jew, servant or free,
Woman or man, no more.

One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

Many the gifts, many the works,
One in the Lord of all.

One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

Grain for the fields, scattered and grown,
Gathered to one, for all

One bread, one body, one Lord of all,
One cup of blessing which we bless.
And we, though many throughout the earth,
We are one body in this one Lord.

WORDS: John B. Foley, 1978 MUSIC: John B. Foley, 1978

HOLY COMMUNION***

The Lord be with you. And also with you.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks to you,
Almighty God, creator of heaven and earth.
You formed us in your image and breathed into us the breath of life.
When we turned away, and our love failed, your love remained steadfast.
You delivered us from captivity, made covenant to be our sovereign God,
and spoke to us through your prophets, who looked for that day
when justice shall roll down like waters
and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream,
when nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.
And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven
we praise your name and join their unending hymn:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Holy are you, and blessed is your Son Jesus Christ.
Your Spirit anointed him to preach good news to the poor,
to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
and to announce that the time had come
when you would save your people.
He healed the sick, fed the hungry, and ate with sinners.
By the baptism of his suffering, death, and resurrection
you gave birth to your Church,
delivered us from slavery to sin and death,
and made with us a new covenant by water and the Spirit.
At his ascension you exalted him
to sit and reign with you at your right hand.

On the night in which he gave himself up for us, he took bread,
gave thanks to you, broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Take, eat; this is my body which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me.”
When the supper was over he took the cup,
gave thanks to you, gave it to his disciples, and said:
"Drink from this, all of you; this is my blood of the new covenant,
poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me."
And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ,
we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving
as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ's offering for us,
as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here,
and on these gifts of bread and wine.
Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ,
that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood.
By your Spirit make us one with Christ,
one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world,
until Christ comes in final victory, and we feast at his heavenly banquet.
Through your Son Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit in your holy Church,
all honor and glory is yours, almighty God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Hymns to be sung during communion

Now I Have Found the Ground Wherein
Now I have found the ground wherein Sure my soul’s anchor may remain—
The wounds of Jesus, for my sin Before the world’s foundation slain;
Whose mercy shall unshaken stay, When heav’n and earth are fled away.

2. Father, thine everlasting grace Our scanty thought surpasses far,
Thy heart still melts with tenderness, Thine arms of love still open are
Returning sinners to receive, That mercy they may taste and live.

3. O Love, thou bottomless abyss, my sins are swallowed up in thee!
Covered is my unrighteousness, nor spot of guilt remains on me,
While Jesu’s blood through earth and skies ‘Mercy, free, boundless mercy!’ Cries.

4. With faith I plunge me in this sea, here is my hope, my joy, my rest;
Hither, when hell assails, I flee, I look into my Savior’s breast:
Away, sad doubt and anxious fear! Mercy is all that’s written there.

Jesus, We Thus Obey
1. Jesus, we thus obey Thy last and kindest word;
Here, in Thine own appointed way, we come to meet Thee, Lord.

2. Our hearts we open wide, To make the Savior room;
And lo! The Lamb, the Crucified, the sinner’s Friend, is come.

3. Thy presence makes the feast; Now let our spirits feel
The glory not to be expressed, the joy unspeakable.

4. Now let our souls be fed with manna from above,
And over us Thy banner spread of everlasting love.

Be Still and Know
1. Be still and know that I am God. Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am God.

2. I am the Lord that healeth thee. I am the Lord that healeth thee.
I am the Lord that healeth thee.

3. In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust. In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust.
In Thee, O Lord, do I put my trust.

Abba, Father, Let Me Be Yours
Abba, Father, let me be yours and yours alone;
May my will forever be, evermore your own.
Never let my heart grow cold, never let me go:
Abba, Father, let me be yours and yours alone.

Lord, Be Glorified
In our lives, Lord, be glorified, be glorified,
in our lives, Lord, be glorified today.

2. In our homes Lord, be glorified, be glorified,
in our homes, Lord, be glorified today.

3.  In your church Lord, be glorified, be glorified,
in our church, Lord, be glorified today.

4. In your world Lord, be glorified, be glorified,
in our world, Lord, be glorified today.

We Give Thee but Thine Own
1 We give thee but thine own,
whate'er the gift may be;
all that we have is thine alone,
a trust, O Lord, from thee.

2 May we thy bounties thus
as stewards true receive
and gladly, as thou blessest us,
to thee our first fruits give.

HYMN OF SENDING FORTH 163 Ask Ye What Great Things I Know+

Ask ye what great thing I know, that delights and stirs me so?
What the high reward I win? Whose the name I glory in?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.

2. Who defeats my fiercest foes? Who consoles my saddest woes?
Who revives my fainting heart, healing all its hidden smart?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.

3. Who is life in life to me? Who the death of death will be?
Who will place me on his right, with the countless hosts of light?
Jesus Christ, the crucified.

4. This is that great thing I know; this delights and stirs me so:
faith in him who died to save, him who triumphed o'er the grave:
Jesus Christ, the crucified.

We give God thanks for this opportunity to worship together in-person in our sanctuary as well as online. Wearing your mask is optional as the Covid virus, although still present, is no longer a healthcare emergency. Please continue to get your booster shots as they become available. We are always happy (and look forward) to have you join us in the sanctuary, but for those who would like to continue to participate from home, we will continue to live stream the services on X.com (formerly Twitter) and youtube.com.

To join us on youtube.com simply type Miramar UMC in the search bar and then you should see the service live streamed. If you subscribe to our service through youtube.com you can set up reminders for the day before or 15 minutes before, whatever you like.
The other way to “gather” in virtual worship is through the X.com (formerly known as Twitter) service available by going to our miramarumc.org website. Pass around the information so that others may join in worship by clicking on the x.com icon on the home page. We will continue our 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services (except when we have a fifth Sunday of the month 10:00 a.m. service.) If you lose the service for a few seconds do not worry it will probably come back, but if it is longer than a few seconds you might try clicking the refresh Error! Filename not specified. button in your browser window.

Please email your prayer requests for uplifting on Sundays by sending them to miramarpastor@gmail.com. It is best if you send them by Saturday NOON if possible.

Our church prayer meeting is online on Sundays at 7:30 p.m. and you may contact Marvia Aitken or Vinessa Edwards for the link.

WAYS to give:
1.  Online giving is available through our website
www.MiramarUMC.org. On the home page the ‘Donate’ icon (a hand with a dollar sign above it) is located at the top left corner and on the right under “Contact Us” you will see the same icon along with “Donate Online.” Click on either location for instructions. If you need help call the church office at 954-989-4711. Thanks to all who have signed up for this. The regular tithes and offerings of the church are a great source of blessing.
 2. You can also mail a check to Miramar United Methodist Church. If you have your offering envelopes you will see that the address of the church is printed for mailing purposes and your offering can be mailed in this envelope when you apply a stamp. You may also use a regular envelope and address it to: MUMC, 2507 Utopia Drive, Miramar FL 33023. Just put your check inside, mark which funds you would like to support, put a stamp on and let the United States Postal Service do the rest! Or bring it by after the Sunday services, someone will be in the church for one hour after the worship finishes as well as Mon-Thurs 1-5 pm. We trust God will keep us strong.
3.  Also, we have the option of giving by text!  Use 833-931-1791 to GivePlusText and when you text any amount, by putting that number in the message, you will be prompted to register, then fill out the details of your name, address and means of payment, and the contribution will go in! If you enter an email address you will get an immediate receipt. It is easy! If you have an Apple phone you may also get Vanco’s GivePlusMobile by downloading the app from the App Store.
