Electronic Giving Explained

Enjoy the convenience of electronic giving!

Good News, our church will always accept and appreciate gifts given by cash or check and we are still going to pass the collection bags. 

However, Miramar United Methodist Church is pleased to announce that we now offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular offering. Electronic giving is convenient for you and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. So, when travel, illness, or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your weekly offerings to continue on an uninterrupted basis.

To set up an electronic giving schedule you can either complete a paper authorization form or visit the church website at MiramarUMC.org and look for the donation link. 

Contributions can now be debited automatically from your checking or savings account or processed using your credit or debit card. Our new electronic giving program offers convenience for you and much-needed donation consistency for our congregation.

As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving. Look for the authorization form in the weekly bulletin or at the church office. Thank you!

Please remember that with any gift other than cash there is a fee associated with it, the bank charges us to deposit checks. Fees vary for all these new options however the Finance Committee felt that to provide all the givers with more options would help our church and our givers the most.

 

So… what do you have to do in order to start giving the electronic way? Giving online is easy and allows you to set up automatic recurring contributions and view your complete online giving history from anywhere you have access to the Internet. Simply follow these easy steps:

1) Visit the church website at MiramarUMC.org

2) Click on the “Donate Now” button on the upper right side,

3) Click on the Create Profile button, then

4) Follow the onscreen instructions to create an online profile and to schedule your recurring contributions.

 

Also, now you can text your offerings!

In less time than it takes to write a check, you can now make your contribution to Miramar United Methodist Church with a quick text message.

To get started, visit the church website at MiramarUMC.org, locate the link to our online giving page and create a profile if you haven’t already—be sure to opt in to send text donations. You will receive a confirmation text and email with instructions on how to text donations.

 

A greener approach to giving

Churches, because of their heavy weekly check volumes, were among the earliest organizations to embrace electronic giving as a way to automate contributions. Today, electronic giving in all its forms provides convenience for frequent check writers and donation consistency for churches.

 

A less frequently discussed benefit of electronic giving is its positive impact on the environment. An enormous amount of natural resources are consumed in the production, transportation, processing and disposal of paper checks. That’s why paying bills electronically always ranks high on any list of actions an individual can take to improve the environment. The trend toward electronic payments has already produced more than a 50% decline in check use since the year 2000.
