Welcome to all visitors.  You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.

 

This week at Bible Study we continue to look at Adam Hamilton's series "Why?" The topic this week: “Why can’t I see God’s will in my life? “All are welcome at any time to join the study on Wednesday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Please enter the building from southern end of the parking lot by the single door.

 

Thanks for every contribution for the Anniversary service. In monetary terms the special envelopes brought in $3611.56.  Thanks also to all who supported the Yard Sale, which so far has made $130.

 

The City of Miramar sponsored Annual Citizenship Drive takes place Saturday, October 5, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Miramar Branch Library, 2050 Civic Center Place. Call 305 249 5534 for more information.

 

News from BOLD Justice: A new season of doing justice begins now. One of our team leaders listed below will call you to attend a house meeting. BOLD Justice continues to support placing the Direct Instruction reading program into our elementary schools and passing a local job ordinance with the preference for Broward County residents to be hired for jobs our local government contracts for. Our team leaders are: Roland Abel, Joyce Hemmans, Jean Grossman, Gwen Pickering, Jesseline Humphreys and Donna Simms. Help BOLD Justice continue to do social justice by answering the call.

 

Prayer Concerns: Randy as he settles into his work in Arizona, Fior with heart problems, Melba and Nora, AJ’s surgery on Oct. 1, for unfortunate events to not   drive us crazy, Barbara sick at home, for the joy of Ivy Van Achtoven’s visit and for her and her son starting FIU, for Althea’s sister in hospital in London, Melba thankful for support in Nelson’s death, for Grace’s grandmother with lung infection, Cheryl praising God for family visits, Jhemelle’s father in hospital, for Darlene’s brother when he sees the doctor, Natalie’s friend Gary with heart failure, Eula on her birthday looking forward to being clothed in her right mind, Winnifred to heal, for those who innovate and how we use their designs, Doris McDowell’s family full of thanks for all the support they found in this church and for those of the family traveling to homes far away, Greta and Lucy improving, Laura delighted that her son Michael came to visit after 6 years, for Pat’s meeting a woman in a restaurant who needs healing from cancer and stroke, for UMW members as they travel home from conference, for Doreen and Lintonal Campbell who are visiting today. Andre, Nancy, June, Ana Lilian, Jorge, Andres, Georgina, Jack, for one to overcome liver cancer, Donna Hurley, Jamoi, Syd, Phyllis, Sheila to be protected as she travels to a funeral and for the grief process.
