Welcome to all visitors.  You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. 

Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.

The 41st Conference Annual Meeting of the Florida Conference United Methodist Women takes place Saturday November 15, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Lakeland.  Registration fee is $25 with lunch, $10 without lunch. Bus leaves our parking lot at 5:00 a.m. Cost $40 round trip. Deadline to register is October 10. Please see Marvia Aitken for details.

 

New Upper Room Daily Devotional Guides are available. Make sure your family uses one and get one for a friend and talk to them about Jesus! 

 

Prayer Concerns: Bettyanne’s brother and his wife to sell their house and be ready to settle on their new one, Luis Roberto to be relieved of stress, Cheryl traveling mercies as she visits family, Marvia rejoicing in change of weather and the chance to remind everyone to check for breast cancer & to advocate for each other and all traveling to UMW event in Lakeland, Florrie rejoicing in breast cancer walk-a-thon and the power of seeing survivors give hope to others and for Lucero to sell her house, and for Bettyanne’s brother and his plans, Jean thankful for Marine son Robert Renelique returning from Afghanistan, Marcia Gayle looking for a permanent job, Carla Williamson rejoicing in getting a new job as Director of Quality Assurance, Shirley Gregg-Leonce joyful that her back is better and praying for Linus, Tina, Delores, Medford, marriages going through tough times, Clara & Peterson, joy for Flo Samuels as she welcomes a new granddaughter, Barbara Gabbidon as she has entered Hillcrest Nursing Home, Lorna rejoicing in Aunt Olive McKenzie getting Jamaica’s Order of Distinction for a life as a Justice of the Peace and helping the poor, for the cookie dough sales to help 50 families at thanksgiving, Roy Crooks thankful for an extra 20 years being a cancer survivor, Audley Codner thankful it has been one year since his surgery and that he is cancer free, for Leyhanna’s mom and stepdad as they return from Jamaica, for Rene Mark at work and school, for Liezette as she travels to Jamaica where many are down due to this “flu”, for Grace and her family, for Dorothy, her coworkers, Andre, Danyel, Val, June, Alethia, Marti, Annie praying for all those going through chemotherapy, Eleanor praying for the persecuted church and for the control of Ebola, for Althea, Mabel BizzelAngie grateful for prayers for Roger, Nikki, Stacey & family & friends, for Ina and her family, and Avis Claire to recover.
