Bulletins today are given in memory of Oswald Samuels (who passed away two years ago on October 16th, 2006), by Kathy Kelly and his brother and sister-in-law Carl & Amy Samuels in Liverpool, England.

Welcome to all visitors.  You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you as our guest during and after the service.
Please note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. Also the church has a wheelchair located in the back of the sanctuary for anyone who wishes to assist a person coming to a meeting.  Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing. LARGE PRINT HYMN BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE USHERS.

The tutoring program for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders called Study Pals is beginning for those who need help in Reading, Writing and Math.  Coordinator Sharon Allen will be in the Fellowship Hall this week from 3 to 5 Monday to Thursday. Those interested in tutoring or being tutored are invited to come along or call Sharon on 954-96 3-3359

“Pathway to Joy”: theme of the 25th Annual Florida Conference Women’s Retreat to be held over four weekends, January 23-25, February 6-8,
February 20-22, March 6-8, 2009. All women of Miramar UMC are encouraged to participate.
The cost for a weekend varies according to the housing choice. Price options for those staying on campus also include five meals. The event brochure with housing and price options is available on the Florida Conference Web site at http://www.flumc.org by clicking the Women’s Retreat 2009 graphic on the front page. The brochure includes descriptions of leaders and enrichment classes, a daily schedule and registration form. Online registration is also available at http://www.flumc by clicking the “calendar” tab at the top of the home page and then “event brochures.” The four weekend retreats are listed there.
Those who do not have Internet access may contact Heidi Leab at 800-282-8011, extension 192, to request a brochure.

Thanks again to all who supported the Oct. 4 sale of meals. We are happy to report that the profit was $1335!

The Traveling Bassinet will be in our church during the month of October. Please bring new or gently used clothing, toys, equipment or anything for babies and toddlers to fill the bassinet. This is a project of the UMW and Church Women United of South Broward.
