News from the Pre School: Offer to “Read for the Record” on Oct. 19 by contacting the office to schedule your time to come in, learning about Food Day Oct. 24, wear creative outfits for Spirit Week Oct. 23-27, attend the Fall Festival Party Oct. 26, the preschool children will perform for the Pastor Appreciation Service on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m., you may give non-perishable foods to the Food Drive Oct. 30-Nov. 10 so that we may add them to the food collected at Harvest Thanksgiving that we distribute with the baskets, come and share with the children about your job during Career Week Nov. 6-10, schedule your talk by calling the office, the Book Fair Nov. 13-17 when you can help support the library by donating a book, or buy one for a child you love, Toy Drive Nov. 27 to Dec. 15 when you can bring in new toys to be given to the preschool students.

Welcome to all visitors. You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back-parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing. 

Prayer concerns: For Pastor David’s safe return, for Althea in hospital, Judith for all the teachers  of children with emotional problems, for the every other Tuesday 9 a.m. prayer partners,  for the Caribbean Islands  affected by hurricanes Irma and Maria, for Beverly Taylor’s safe travel to Jamaica,  for Sophia playing trumpet in the Miramar High School band and for the band leader who incorporates  hymns  in the band performances,  for Bettyanne traveling to DC, for Jeannie’s mother-in-law in hospital and for Marvin, Virginia, Phil and the others in hospital,  for Janet Hansby’s travel  back to the Virgin Islands, for continued prayer for Melba Smith,  for all the people who have stepped up to help others affected by the hurricanes,  for Sharon Allen who isn’t feeling well, for the victims in Las Vegas, for the survivors and families of the victims of the massacre in Las Vegas , for Heather’s daughter on the way home  and for Gio, Devone and all the kids away at school, for Mabel being able to be here today with members  of her  family, for Laura happy to be back and for having escaped Irma in Anguilla, for Vanessa’s  sister being safe after being held up and for her niece having successful breast cancer surgery that did not affect the lymph nodes, Val, Sonia, Pam, Dexter, Sharon, Joan, Dr. Katie, Dorothy, Diane, family in Puerto Rico that have been found, troops & families, love, peace, tolerance, A.J. & Jeannie to be without so much stress, Althea Browne recovering from surgery, Bettyanne as she travels, sick & shut in, Roger & family, Catherine Wheedleton, Owen Wyman, Mabel Bizzell, Alean Stephens, Beulah’s children in Jamaica to get through immigration paperwork, Dennis & Karen Francis, Athea, Roger, Tavan, Angie family & friends, respect.
