Welcome to all visitors.  You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Please note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. Also the church has a wheelchair located in the back of the sanctuary for anyone who wishes to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing. LARGE PRINT HYMN BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE USHERS.

Pastor Garnes Bible Study group starts again on Sunday, September 12, 2010

The Upper Room Daily Devotional Guides are now available for the months of September/October on the back table. Please leave a $1 donation in the box.

 

Thanks to all who participated in the 50th Anniversary Celebration last Sunday, we had over 304 people present!  Thanks for working hard, inviting people, being gracious in welcoming. May God continue to lead us for our next 50 years. Amount collected for 50/50 envelopes is $4216.40

 

Wesley Groups: Stan Barnett’s group, the Seekers, meets every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the church library.

 

Pastor David will be having a New Members Session on Sunday, August 29th at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (please enter from the parking lot side through the south end, single door.) All who are interested in knowing more about the church are invited to come--and if you are ready to join we will have a Sunday soon when we can offer you the right hand of fellowship. In this session there is some sharing about who we are as a church, an orientation to our ministries, and a tour of the building. Seekers and searchers are very welcome!

 

Prayer Concerns: Carl Smith to recover from heart attack, Gerald in hospital to find the source of bleeding, Teneshia's joy in her sister finding a job & for her traveling mercies, Dorothy and Andre going to his school in Kentucky, Melba thanks for blessing and family, Jeannie's mother's  neck to heal, praise for finances allowing mother to be in rehab, for Jeannie to improve in health, for Nicole as she travels to college, BettyAnne's  joy in David Harrell getting into nursing home near sister, for David Edwards knee surgery, for Diana facing breast cancer, for health care workers coming down with cancer, for Val doing better day by day, for Dalia's hospital and the changes coming, for Judith as she travels to NY and back to the church's anniversary.
