Welcome to all visitors.  You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.

 

The Spiritual Enrichment Retreat of the United Methodist Women takes place September 13-15 2013 at the Life Enrichment Center, Fruitland Park, FL. Registration deadline is August 24 and the cost is $140 per adult per room, double occupancy. Please call the church office for more information if you would like to attend.

 

News From BOLD Justice: We are starting a new season of doing justice. One of our team leaders listed below will be calling you to attend a house meeting. BOLD Justice is continuing to support placing the Direct Instruction reading program into our elementary schools and also passing a local job ordinance with the preference for Broward County residents to be hired for jobs our local government contracts for. Our team leaders are: Roland Abel, Joyce Hemmans, Jeannie Grossman, and Gwen Pickering. Be willing to help BOLD Justice continue to do social justice by answering the call.

 

Prayer Concerns: Florie’s brother Hernando, family of student killed in Miami Gardens, Karen in Chile, Melba, Nora, for our troops, Lucy Ayayee in hospital, Grace’s grandmother in hospital--her Dad’s birthday next week, kids and teachers returning to school, Cheryl’s friend Joan to heal from cancer and for all to get scans, Iseem with cancer, A.J. pinched nerve, Julio back at work, football players to do their best, Crystal who lost mother, Jessica celebrating promotion and beginning training, Beverly’s family especially Marvin for healing, Sharon, for Nelson to rest in peace, Ina’s family and Keisha, Althea joyful for life and another year of it and her brother hospitalized, Barbara with lung infection, Nathaniel going back to school, thanks for all those who take care of Maya and for all church support, thanks for all Allison does to plan good outings, for youth going to college, for Annie’s son Syd, for Johnnie’s cousin Vera to walk again, for Jack who sends his love, thanks for the lessons of nature especially the caterpillar/butterfly story, Shirley thankful to be a blessing to stroke victim friend Timpo and her daughter Jasmine & family, for Gertrude’s perception of our church as a happy place and for next Sunday’s anniversary to be a blessing and for continued growth, for the way George Watkins welcomes people as far back as 1998..., home churches in Jamaica and other places, for children to be protected as they come up against so much evil and for our youth to be good models of Christianity, for Cynthia Southwood-Smith, Phyllis Saunders in hospital, Mr. Falcon, Mr. Dieguez, George & Louise, for Andre & Randy to get a job, for co-workers, for help for Rohan especially as he starts his new job, for a job in order to contribute a tithe.
