Pastor: David Range

Dear friends,
The best news is that Jesus loves us and brings healing. The good news is that I am home from hospital after spending five days starting the process of healing from a severe case of diverticulitis. The less good news is that the antibiotics that I have to take for the next 10 days are causing me problems. But God is good and I am part of a very supportive church so we will figure this out. Thank you for your prayers. Last Sunday, thanks to my wife, Pastor CJ Walter, who stepped in to conduct the services, I enjoyed participating in the services from my hospital bed on my phone, first on Twitter and then for the second service on youtube.com where all you have to do is type into the search bar: Miramar UMC and then you should see the service live streamed, or later if you wish. Thanks again to CJ who will take the services this Sunday since the side effects of the antibiotics are more overwhelming than I thought they would be. The Twitter service will be found the same place as it has been since March. We will continue our 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services (except when we have a fifth Sunday 10:00 a.m. service.)  We are thankful for our www.MiramarUMC.org website. Pass around the information so that others may join in worship by clicking on the Twitter bird icon on the home page. Please email your prayer requests for uplifting on Sunday by sending them to miramarpastor@gmail.com. It is best if you send them by Saturday night if possible.

Remember Sunday School is at 10:00 a.m. on Zoom so children from both services can take part. You may contact Marvia Aitken at marviaaitken@hotmail.com or Pastor David at miramarpastor@gmail.com. Also, every other Sunday we will have Youth Group on GoToMeeting.com. Please contact Pastor David at miramarpastor@gmail.com for the link. The Sunday 7:30 p.m. prayer meeting continues on Zoom, contact Marvia Aitken or Vinessa Edwards if you would like to join in and they will send you the link.

Thanks to those who have signed on to e-giving. Thanks to those who have dropped by for a short visit, keeping social distance, or to drop off their gift in person or to pick up the Upper Room daily devotional guide. This week, Monday through Thursday there will be someone in the church or pastor’s office from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. each day, and other times by appointment. Please remember to enter from the south entrance near the Pastor’s office. No other doors will be open for church business. The pre school has reopened but you should still come in by the south entrance because the north entrance from the parking lot has been sanitized and must be kept clean for the little children of the pre school. Please let friends with pre school aged children know that they can enroll the children in our pre school. The government pays the fees for the children of first responders.
Looking forward to worshiping with you through the Holy Spirit.
Grace and peace, Pastor David

Call to Worship

*Hymn 88 Maker In Whom We Live  ccli #242496
1 Maker, in whom we live, in whom we are and move,
the glory, power, and praise receive for thy creating love.
Let all the angel throng give thanks to God on high,
while earth repeats the joyful song and echoes to the sky.

2 Incarnate Deity, let all the ransomed race
render in thanks their lives to thee for thy redeeming grace.
The grace to sinners showed ye heavenly choirs proclaim,
and cry, "Salvation to our God, salvation to the Lamb!"

3 Spirit of Holiness, let all thy saints adore
thy sacred energy, and bless thine heart-renewing power.
Not angel tongues can tell thy love's ecstatic height,
the glorious joy unspeakable, the beatific sight.

4 Eternal, Triune God, let all the hosts above,
let all on earth below record and dwell upon thy love.
When heaven and earth are fled before thy glorious face,
sing all the saints thy love hath made thine everlasting praise.

Give Me That Old Time Religion
Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
It’s good enough for me.

It was good for Paul and Silas,
It was good for Paul and Silas,
It was good for Paul and Silas,
It’s good enough for me.

Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
It’s good enough for me.

It was good for the Hebrew children,
It was good for the Hebrew children,
It was good for the Hebrew children,
It’s good enough for me.

Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion,
It’s good enough for me.

I’ll Fly Away
Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away
To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.

I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away
When I die, hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away

 Just a few more weary days and then, I’ll fly away
To a land where joys shall never end, I’ll fly away.

I’ll fly away, O glory, I’ll fly away
When I die, hallelujah by and by, I’ll fly away

Closer Than A Brother
Closer than a brother my Jesus is to me
He’s my dearest friend in everything I need
He’s my rock, my shield and hiding place
Closer than a brother Jesus is to me

Great Is Your Mercy
Great is your mercy towards me
Your love and kindness towards me
Your tender mercy I see day after day
Forever faithful towards me,
And You’re always providing for me
Great is Your mercy towards me
Great is Your grace.

*Hymn 310 He Lives  ccli #242496
1 I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today,
I know that He is living, whatever foes may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He's always near

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

2 In all the world around me I see His loving care,
And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair.
I know that He is leading, through all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing will come at last.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

3 Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find;
None other is so loving, so good and kind.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.

Click on either location for instructions. If you need help call the church office at 954-989-4711 or call Pastor David. Thanks to all who have signed up for this. The regular tithes and offerings of the church are a great source of blessing.

Just put your check inside, mark which funds you would like to support, put a stamp on and let the United States Postal Service do the rest! Or bring it by after the services, someone will be in the church for one hour after the worship finishes. We trust God will keep us strong.

Also, we have the option of giving by text! Use 833-931-1791 to GivePlusText and when you text any amount, by putting that number in the message, you will be prompted to register, then fill out the details of your name, address and means of payment, and the contribution will go in! If you enter an email address you will get an immediate receipt. It is easy! If you have an Apple phone you may also get Vanco’s GivePlusMobile by downloading the app from the App Store. You may also look up YouTube videos to show how all this is done.

Prayer Hymn 314 In the Garden ccli #242496
1 I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses;
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,
The Son of God discloses.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

2 He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing;
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

3 I'd stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling;
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe,
His voice to me is calling.

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own,
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

Pastoral prayer and Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.

*Hymn of sending forth 370 Victory In Jesus ccli #242496
1 I heard an old, old story, how a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him;
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

2 I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing,
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see;
And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit"
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him;
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

3 I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory,
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea;
About the angels singing, and the old redemption story,
And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

Oh victory in Jesus, my Savior forever!
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;
He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him;
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.
