We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Please note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. Also the church has a wheelchair located in the back of the sanctuary for anyone who wishes to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing. LARGE PRINT HYMN BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE USHERS.
The funeral arrangements for Kathleen Kelly, the mother of Jackie McCorkle is as follows: Friday Oct. 15, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., visitation at Scarano’s, 9000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines. Saturday, Oct. 16 funeral at our church at 1:00 p.m. with the casket open for visitation a half an hour before the service begins.
Pastor David has started a new course on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. created for those who would like to explore the meaning of the Christian faith. It is especially good for those adults thinking of joining the church but it is open to everyone. The Alpha course has been held all over the world and covers these topics: How Can I Be Sure of My Faith? Why and How Do I Pray? How Does God Guide Us? Who Is the Holy Spirit? What Does the Holy Spirit Do? How Can I Be Filled With the Spirit? How Can I Resist Evil? Why and How Should We Tell Others? Does God Heal Today? What About the Church? How Can I Make the Most of the Rest of My Life?
The Traveling Bassinet is here again. Donations of baby clothing and supplies are needed for babies of mothers in need. Sponsored by the UMW and Church Women United of South Broward.
October Upper Rooms are now available. To help cover the cost of the books a donation of $1.00 is suggested.
The Food Pantry is now almost empty. Please bring in contributions of non-perishable food items so we can play our part in helping to feed the hungry in our community.
Please remember you can dedicate bulletins to the memory or honor of a loved one for a minimum contribution of only $10.
Cokesbury UMC, 1801 NW 65th Av., Margate, FL is doing a Mission Study on the Beauty and Courage of Sudan on Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 9am to 3pm. There will be no charge for lunch as the ladies will be preparing salads and desserts and will look forward to a time of sharing and learning. All are encouraged to attend the SE District-United Methodist Women's 5th ANNUAL Meeting is being held on Saturday October 30, 2010 from 9am to 2pm @ Norland UMC, 885 NW 195th St., Miami Gardens, FL 33169. Registration fee of $8:00 includes breakfast and lunch. Childcare is available. Registration forms are on the UMW notice board. Please give completed form and fee to Sis Jeannie Grossman no later than Thursday, October 21, 2010. Carpooling will be available for the event.
