Almighty God, as we begin this season of Advent remind us again that in the midst of our darkness you are bringing us peace, to calm our anxious spirits and hectic lives. Turn our hearts again toward you. Make us ready to receive your Son our Savior. Slow our pace, and give us the blessing of feeling your peace in our spirits. For we ask this in Jesus’ precious Name. Amen.

Welcome to all visitors. You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you.  We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.

Prayer concerns:

Grace for those who receive the food we donate, civil citations, mentally ill, seniors in care, we give thanks for getting up today but pray for the young students of this country that hate will end and there will be no prejudice based on race, color or religion, Darlene and family as they travel to St. Thomas, Janice thankful for the six years they have been a family and joyful for Maya & Stephani making the honor roll, college students especially Maureen’s grand nephew Chad, Jessica thankful for those who keep up with and pray for brother Jesse and for him to keep fighting, for family issues, for Florrie and those traveling from Colombia to SC, Randy & Jonathan, Lucia & Aloma & family as they travel, Aloma as she has surgery on Wednesday, for Jeannie and co-workers and all who have to work through sickness, Raverly’s brother Morris, for all to get the medical tests they need especially for ovarian cancer, those grieving, Nicholas & Josh as they pursue basketball, Grandma Hyacinth as she recovers at home, Tiffany delighted with her new family of Shirely, Magenta & Joanne, for Rene and other young people juggling jobs and school, thanks for God mysterious ways in helping us get plenty of sugar cane and other foods for the harvest from Walt Richard’s a contact of Ola, Beto Dieguez, Vivian P. Sylvia H., Our Country, for peace & love, for troops & their families,  Juliet Henry’s family, Annie Woods who lost husband, Lorretta & family, Karen & Dennis Francis, Margaret Browne, Rosemarie Nicholas, Millicent & family, Mabel Bizzell, Val, Sonia, Pam, Dexter, Joan, Sharon, Alethea, Diane & Dorothy to get jobs, Denese, Roger, Tavon, Peaches, Stacy, Brady family, help for Angie, Catherine Wheedleton to have peace and no more pain, persecuted, marginalized, oppressed, downtrodden, abused, abandoned, terrorists, displaced, Tom Janos & Mark Strysick healing, Fay grand & great grand daughter as the baby was in hospital, Diane Unger, Johnathan Corbet, Nancy Bryer, Shirley & family,  Joanne on the anniversary of her mother’s passing.
