Good morning. My name is Ola Duhaney, President of the Miramar United Methodist Women. Thank you all for joining us today as we celebrate Women’s Sunday. Leading our 8: 30 Service is Deaconess Doctor Judith Pierre-Okerson, President of the Florida Conference and also a member of Miramar UMW.  Sister Joyce Hemmans,  Asst. LITANY: 8:30 Deaconess Dr. Judith-Pierre-Okerson, 11:00 Sister Joyce Hemmans

One voice: Merciful and gracious God, who knows the sparrow and the lily by name, remind us today that you know each of us by name.
Many voices: Assure us that we are your precious children, given freedom as whole persons in Christ.

One voice: Break through our fears, our discouragement, our hesitations.
Many voices: Fill us with the Spirit that we may show courage, persistence and joy in the days ahead.

One voice: Here, we honor the gifts that you have given us, Eternal Creator.
Many voices: Build us into your beloved community. Bless us with your wisdom that we may be empowered to share the good news of your salvation.

One voice: Though each of us is but one strand in the tapestry of our world
Many voices: Knit us together into the beautiful body of Christ, to share with the world, so that all may know your mercy and grace. Bind us together, Lord. Amen.

UMW PURPOSE: United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

*HYMN 98 To God Be the Glory
1 To God be the glory, great things he hath done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!

2 O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
to every believer the promise of God.
The vilest offender who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!

3 Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done,
and great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
but purer, and higher, and greater will be
our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!

*HYMN 365 Grace Greater Than our Sin
Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary's mount out-poured–
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

2 Sin and despair like the sea-waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater– yes, grace untold–
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

3 Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
All who are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God's grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!

PRAYER HYMN 301 Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross
1 Jesus, keep me near the cross;
There a precious fountain,
Free to all, a healing stream,
Flows from Calvary's mountain.

In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

2 Near the cross, a trembling soul,
Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star
Sheds its beams around me.

In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

3 Near the cross! O lamb of God,
Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day
With its shadow o'er me.

In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

4 Near the cross I'll watch and wait,
Hoping, trusting ever;
Till I reach the golden strand,
Just beyond the river.

In the cross, in the cross
Be my glory ever,
Till my raptured soul shall find
Rest beyond the river.

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.

1 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation!

All ye who hear; now to his temple draw near;
join me in glad adoration!

2 Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigning;
Bears thee on eagle’s wings, e’er in his keeping maintaining.
God’s care enfolds all, whose true good he upholds.
Hast thou not known his sustaining?

3 Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;
surely his goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.
Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,
Who with his love doth befriend thee.

4 Praise to the Lord, who doth nourish thy life and restore thee,
Fitting thee well for the tasks that are ever before thee.
Then to thy need God as a mother doth speed,
Spreading the wings of grace o’er thee.

5 Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him!
All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him!
Let the amen sound from his people again;
gladly forever adore him.
