Call to worship

*Hymn 117 O God our Help in Ages Past
1 O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come,
our shelter from the stormy blast,
and our eternal home!

2 Under the shadow of thy throne,
Still may we dwell secure;
sufficient is thine arm alone,
and our defense is sure.

3 Before the hills in order stood,
or earth received her frame,
from everlasting thou art God,
to endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in thy sight
are like an evening gone;
short as the watch that ends the night
before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,
bears all who breathe away;
they fly forgotten, as a dream
dies at the opening day.

6 O God, our help in ages past,
our hope for years to come:
Be thou our guide while life shall last,
and our eternal home.
WORDS: Isaac Watts, 1719.  MUSIC: Attr. to William Croft, 1709; harm. by W. H. Monk, 1861. ccli #242496

This Is The Day
This is the day….this is the day
that the Lord has made…that the Lord has made
We will rejoice….we will rejoice
and be glad in it…..and be glad in it
This is the day that the Lord has made
We will rejoice and be glad in it
This is the day….this is the day
that the lord has made

Great And Mighty
Great and mighty is the Lord our God
Great and mighty is He
Great and mighty is the Lord our God
Great and mighty is He
Lift up your banner let the anthems ring
praises to our King
Great and mighty is the Lord our God
Great and mighty is He

I Love That Man From Galilee
I love that man…from Galilee
For he has done so very much for me
He has taken all my sin
Placed the Holy Ghost within
I love that man
That man from Galilee

This Is Holy Ground
This is holy ground, we’re standing on holy ground,
For the Lord is present, and where He is, is holy.
This is holy ground, we’re standing on holy ground,
For the Lord is present, and where He is, is holy.

These are holy hands, He’s given holy hands,
He works through these hands, and so these hands are holy.
These are holy hands, He’s given holy hands,
He works through these hands, and so these hands are holy.

*Hymn 710 Faith of Our Fathers
1 Faith of our fathers! living still
In spite of dungeon, fire, and sword.
O how our hearts beat high with joy
Whene'er we hear that glorious word!
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.

2 Faith of our fathers! we will strive
To win all nations unto thee.
And through the truth that comes from God
We all shall then be truly free:
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.

3 Faith of our fathers! We will love
Both friend and foe in all our strife,
And preach thee, too, as love knows how
By kindly words and virtuous life:
Faith of our fathers, holy faith!
We will be true to thee till death.
WORDS: Frederick W. Faber, 1849. MUSIC: Henri F. Hemy, 1864; adapt. By James G. Walton, 1874.  ccli #242496

Prayer Hymn 102 Now Thank We All Our God
1 Now thank we all our God
with heart and hands and voices,
who wondrous things has done,
in whom this world rejoices;
who from our mothers' arms
has blessed us on our way
with countless gifts of love,
and still is ours today.

2 O may this bounteous God
through all our life be near us,
with ever joyful hearts
and blessed peace to cheer us,
And keep us still in grace,
and guide us when perplexed,
and free us from all ills,
in this world and the next.

3 All praise and thanks to God
the Father now be given,
the Son and him who reigns,
With them in highest heaven;
the one eternal God,
whom earth and heaven adore;
for thus it was, is now,
and shall be evermore.
WORDS: Martin Rinkart, 1663; trans. by Catherine Winkworth, 1858. MUSIC: Johann Cruger, 1647; harm. by Felix Mendelssohn, 1840 ccli #242496

Pastoral prayer and Lord’s Prayer

Let us share together The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven:
Give us this day our daily bread;
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.

*Hymn of sending forth 576 Rise Up, O Men of God
1 Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things;
Give heart and soul and mind and strength
To serve the King of kings.

2 Rise up, O saints of God!
The kingdom tarries long;
Bring in the day of brotherhood
And end the night of wrong.

3 Rise up, O men of God!
The church for you doth wait,
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up, and make her great!

4 Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where his feet have trod;
As brothers of the Son of Man,
Rise up, O men of God!
WORDS: William P. Merrill, 1911;  MUSIC: William H. Walter, 1894. ccli #242496

Benediction (please raise hands toward heaven)
