Monday: For the Martin Luther King Parade around Sherman Circle we hope that church members will attend and enjoy the parades on the sidelines in their church T-shirts with the hope that next year we can be one of the groups marching. Please talk to Pastor David or Marvia Aitken if you would like more information.. Ina McNeil’s Bold Justice house meeting, 7:30 p.m. in fellowship hall, and Donna Simms’ Bold Justice house meeting, 7:30 p.m. in the library.

Friday: Children’s Club, 7-8:30 p.m.

Saturday: Celebration of Life in our church for Clothilda Cameron, Gwen Pickering’s mother with visitation from 10-11:00 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial in Forest Lawn cemetery, Ft. Lauderdale.

Next Sunday: Worship 8:30 & 11:00 a.m. Our church is invited to “The Longest Table” starting at 5 p.m. at Miramar City Hall, 2300 Civic Center place. This event hosted by the Mayor’s Office, is designed to promote unity and a sense of “place” here in the City of Miramar over a delicious dinner outside under the stars with neighbors. Invite your neighbors, friends, family, and even coworkers. The event is a dinner discussion held outside in what will be the longest dinner table ever assembled in Miramar.

Later that day the Youth Rally will take place from 5 to 9:00 p.m.

BOLD Justice (Broward Organized Leaders Doing Justice) is working on continued support for nursing homes “Operation Spot-check” and that each home would have a working generator in case the power grid goes down. We continue to advocate for more officers to be given Crisis Intervention Training so that they will be better prepared to help the mentally ill offenders with better solutions. We advocate for fewer youth and adult arrests when other actions can be taken, for example, civil citations. Please put on your calendar the dates for 2020: March 3 Rally, April 2 Nehemiah Action, May 19 Celebration.

Welcome to all visitors. You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you. We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service. Note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back-parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.

Peace, love, tolerance, empathy, light in the world, for the troops & their families, for the USA and how it interacts in the world, for the families of Martell Bernard & Clothilda Cameron and the upcoming funerals, Mike Stull, Rossana Bell, people in Puerto Rico, world peace, Kippie Gallagher, Karen Francis, Millicent Gardner & family, Mabel Bizzell, the Browne family, Pam, Sonia, Dexter, Joan, Sharon, Curtis, Michelle Hawkins, Pamela Taylor, Cherry, Brian, Dudley, family of Regina Watson whose aunt was murdered, traveling mercies as Dorothy goes to see her granddaughter Brooklyn, Jeannie Grossman as she goes to see a specialist, Rolla Shick, Fay Harley & family members, Hollinger family at the passing of mother, family of Ann Bucchi, Jim recovering from heart attack, Tom recovering from heart surgery, Shirmene Lloyd, Debra Romney, Jenny Munguia, Ethel who lost sister, Yvonne, Eula’s mom as she recovers, Deborah Dorsett’s brother at the loss of his wife, as ten years have passed since the earthquake in Haiti we continue to pray for relief, Racquel getting the news she has a terminal illness, Clevona, Marco, Kim, Mary, Jackie, Ronald, Shirley, Stephanie, Felix and other college students as they go back to school, joy for Joel Edwards such a wonderful vacation, Lucille’s niece as she undergoes test, joy that we avoided all-out war in the Middle East, Helene as she goes to visit her first grandchild, Barbara’s nephews as they serve in Afganistan and Kuwait, Mabel Bizzell glad to be in worship, Sophia & others on the debate team as they compete at Nova today, sadness at the loss of Beulah Oliver after success in fighting cancer for 20 years, thanksgiving for her generosity.
