Welcome to all visitors. You are invited to stand during the service and introduce yourself, or to have someone else introduce you. We want to give you one of our welcome packs and therefore encourage you to fill out the card and tear off the badge, write your name on it and wear it so that we can greet you during and after the service.
Please note that there is a wheelchair entrance from the back parking lot through the double doors. The church has a wheelchair in the back of the sanctuary for anyone wishing to assist a person coming to a meeting. Rest rooms for the disabled are available in the Preschool wing.
Please remember, the Nursery has two paid employees during the second service.
"Ways to Work" Car loans, is a new program launched this past Tuesday in Broward county sponsored by our District United Methodist South Florida Urban Ministries and the Urban League (www.sflum.org). Please see the bulletin boards or talk to Pastor David (who attended) if you would like to know more about how to get one of these loans to improve your transportation situation!
The City of Miramar presents the 4th Annual “Joining Hands in a Day of Service” event, Saturday April 14 at Lakeshore Park, to beautify the park. Please call Shari Covington at 954 602 3130 for information on scheduling and volunteering.
Saturday April 21Memorial Hospital West hosts its 20th Anniversary Community Celebration & Health Fair on their campus at 703 Flamingo Rd, featuring health screenings, entertainment and activities for kids. Flyers on back table and notice boards.
The Memorial HITS Program offers services for uninsured children and adults. See insert.
Volunteers still needed to help with the new Welcome Centers. We need folk to be present after each service to talk with visitors about the church and to offer refreshments to newcomers. Please speak with Pastor David or Kathy Kelly if you can help.
Remember to bring in your donations of plastic eggs and wrapped candies for the Easter Egg hunt to be held on April 7 at 9:00 a.m.
Joys and Concerns: For Trayvon Martin’s family and for this country to treat each other right no matter the color or income level. Joy for Randy being offered a job, for Lisa and Claudia who have lost loved ones, for Doreen to be able to walk freely again after nerve damage, Joy for the Word delivered during the Men’s Prayer Breakfast, for representatives from the City of Miramar: Chief Dunne who also patrols, for Patty Good as school board representative, for Mayor Mosely who has presided over great growth with sensitivity, for all those from the church who are walking at River Run Park in the evenings 6 to 8, for Pat as she goes for an exam and for her daughters to take care of themselves, for the joy of players from our church -- Eldon’s team -- winning soccer championship.
